The Traditional Prime Minister, Enyiogugu autonomous community in Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area, Okenze Maurice Eke has advised the officers and men of the newly inaugurated Violent Crime Response Unit, VCRU to work according to the provisions of the law constitutionally.
Okenze Eke gave the advice in an interview with newsmen shortly after the inauguration of the VCRU, by the Nigeria Police, Imo State Command with the theme “Tackling violent crime, upholding citizens’ rights for a safer Imo State” held last Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at the Imo State Police Headquarters, Owerri.
He identified the inauguration as a welcome development because the VCRU will serve the civlians and the police, as well as ensure that anyone arrested illegally will go to court, according to him, civilians now have to query any abuse by the police
The Enyiogugu TPM noted that the work of VCRU is maintenance of law and order and charged the officers to embrace high level of professionalism in practice.
Okenze Eke also enjoined the officers to try and do what the law says professionally.
He emphasized the nerd for the members of the public to cooperate with the officers and also report their excesses to the appropriate quarters.
